In 2015 I fractured my L5 vertebrae playing rugby. What started as the worst thing that had happened to me became the thing that changed everything. Stuck in rehab, I fell completely in love with human biology - what the body is capable of, how it adapts, how it responds to the right stimulus under the right structure.

I'd been studying architectural design at UQ. Good on paper. Soul-destroying in reality. I walked away from it and never looked back.

The next decade I spent obsessively studying and coaching. Advanced Sports Nutrition, a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance Nutrition, a Master of Exercise Science in Strength and Conditioning. Not because I had to but because I couldn't stop.

In 2023, I tore my meniscus in half. Two more years of rehab. I kept coaching. Kept progressing. Trained around it every single day. I didn't build the Peak Performance Protocol from a textbook. I built it from the inside out, as someone who has had to fight for every result and find a way to keep moving when the easy option was to stop.
